  • First Electric Motor

    Thomas Davenport developed the first electric motor in the year of 1837. This discovery of energy impacted the future of cars and other automobiles world wide.
  • Fuel Cell Invented

    The first fuel cell was invented by Sir William Robert Grove. A fuel cell enables an object to combine both hydrogen and oxygen to produce energy.

  • First Light Bulb Created

    Usually we think of Edison when we hear the word light bulb but an inventor named Joseph Swan was actually the first to invent the incandescent light bulb.

  • First Hydroelectric Dam

    The worlds first hydroelectric dam was built by H.J. Rogers. The dam was located on the Fox River in Appleton, Wisconsin. I used natural energy (the water) and generated enough energy to power Rogers' home, the plant itself, and another building.

    The solar panel was a huge advancement for efforts toward clean energy. Henry Becquerel realized that the panels he had created were attracting and holding energy from the sun, thus the solar panel was created.
