High Renaissance

    High Renaissance

    Several important historical events that occured during the High Renaissance inculde the Sack of Rome by Charles V, the rebuilding of St. Peter's, and the beginnings of the Protestant Reformation. Artists began to be seen as divinely inspired geniuses as opposed to simple manual laborers. Art was characterized by a sense of gravity and decorum and Classical art was often emulated. The artists Michelangelo, Leodardo, and Raphael all contributed to the development of this High Renaissance style
