From 1861-1865, the Confederacy is the name commonly given to the Confederate States of American.The war was all between All of America. It was started when southern states seceded from the Union after the election of Abraham Lincoln. -
Warner Bros first powered flight
The wright flyer was the first powered flight in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Wilbur and Orville Wright made the first successful airplane in 1903. They both tested the airplane multiple times to make sure their work was correct and that the plane would fly. -
The Great Depression
From 1929-1939, the worst economic downturn occurred in the history of the industrialized world. The Great Depression began after the stock market crashed in October, 1929, which wiped out millions of investors. Over the following years, people spent less money which ended up causing a lot of people to lose their jobs. -

D-Day was the day of the Normandy landings. Allied effort to liberate mainland Europe from Nazi Germany. Britten and America, Canada. -

From 1947-1991, the cold war was between the Soviet Union and the NATO the Canadian army was a little bit involved. The main war had Western Europe. -

In October 1958, Project Mercury was the first human space flight program for the U.S, designed by NASA. Their goal was to put a man into earths orbit before the Soviet Union. -
The First Chimp to be Sent Into Space
Ham was the first chimp to be sent into space and come back safely in 1961. Ham was born in Cameroon in 1957, and was captured, then Ham was transferred to Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, where he was trained for spaced travel during 18 months. -
The First Human in Space
Yuri was a Russian astronaut, and was the first human in space. He made an 108 minute orbital flight in his Vostok 1 Spacecraft. He advanced the future of space technology. -
Apollo 11
On July 16, 1969, Apollo 11 launched from Cape Kennedy, with Neil Armstrong, and pilot Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, into earths orbit. Then on July 20, 1969, they landed on the moon, saying the famous words, "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind" The two then stayed on the moon's surface for 21 hours and 36 minutes.
