My Milestones
Milestones are an action or event making a significant change or a stage in development. Without these milestones throughout my life I would not be the person I am today. I would not be Jacinda Burns. -
Trying to cook breakfast for my family
giving back This was an intellectual change in my life. I was learning how to do some minor cooking with my Grandma and learning through observations. This also affected my personality since it made me enjoy helping people and doing things for others. -
Starting School
first day of school Starting school was an intellectual change in my life. I would now be going to school for half a day and eventually a full day to learn. It is also a social change due to the new environment I was put into while knowing no one. -
Riding my bike for the first time
Riding my bike for the first time without training wheels showed that I was becoming bigger and strong enough to do this task. A physical change has occured and I was growing older. -
Visiting North Bay for the first time
Going to North Bay with my Gramma without my parents was an important event in my life. It was the first time I have ever been away from my mother and father for more than a night. It was a moral change in my life. It had me making moral decisions on my own and had me being my own and use my manners without being reminded. -
Moving to a new area
Moving to a new area and starting a school is a huge emotional and social change for a child. Leaving my neighbourhood and my friends was a sad emotional hage for me. It also affected me socially because I moved to a different area of town where I knew no one and had to start over. I had to use my communication skills in order to know the area and make new friends. -
Gramma moving away
My Gramma moving out of the city and to another which is five hours away was a big deal to me. It was a huge emotional change since I could not always see my Gramma whenever I wanted and talk to her about life. I am very close with my Gramma and she is my favourite person which made this a very emotional expirenec. -
High School
true friend Starting high school was a very big social change. It was difficult going from the oldest and most respected at middle school the school to the under dogs at highs chool. In high school I also realized who my true friend are and who aren't there for me. Without my friends and expierences through high school I would not be the person I am today, therefore my personality has been affected. -
Puberty
I was one of my last friends to go through puberty so I was very excited when I finally did. My body was finally starting to mature ! Going through puberty was a big physcical change. -
First Job
My first job was at KW- OKTOBERFEST.Getting my first job affected me in both an intellectual and social way. It affected me intellectually by teaching me the value of money. Before I had a job I was more likely to spend all my money in one place and not care how much a spent. Now since i know how much hours I would have to work to afford something I am more hesitant to spend my money. It has also affected me socially because it proves that I am getting older and am mature enough to handle a job. -
Braces off
Getting my braces off was more than just a physical change for me. Before I had braces I was very self concious about the way I looked and didn't necessarly feel pretty. I would often get bullied about not having nice teeth which hurt my self image. Once I got my braces off I changed psychologically. I was more comfident with the way i look but also the person I am. I realized I am the exact same person I was before I got my braces off. -
Dying Hair
Dying my hair was a big physical change for me. Up until this year I have never been able to dye my hair. I went from my plain brown hair to something I personally liked. It changed my physical appareance gave me a sense of freedom. It also helped me express my personality in a unique way. -
University Acceptance
Getting accepted into university was an emotional change for me. I was so excited to finally recieve an acceptance because I though I wasn't going to get accepted into any university.Knowing that my hard work has finally paid off and I will not have to come back to take a fifth year has made me a more positive person. It gives me faith for the future I have planned out for myself. -
Graduating High School
The day I graduate high school will be a big day for me. It means thats all my hard work throughout the years has paid off. This will be a big social change for me since I will no be in high school and will face new expierences in university. I will be forced to use my communication skills and do what's morally right while expierencing new things and meeting new people.
