Hoover was an orphan at the age of nine and would eventually go live with his uncle, Dr. John Minthorn.
Hoover's fater passed away when he was a little and his mother would pass away when he nine. He would eventually moved to his Uncle's household and it is there where he will learn to have a strong work ethic. -
Stanford University
Hoover would go on to be one of the first students of Stanford University. It is there where he became the Baseball and Football student manager. Hoover would graduate with a degree in geology. -
Boxer Rebellion
Hoover and his wife Lou Hoover, were trapped in the Chinese settlement Tianjin while he was working as mining engineer for Bewick Moreing & Co. Hoover used his knwoledge of the terrain to guide the U.S Marines and Lou volunteered at a hospitol and treated the wounded. -
Mining Business
Hoover would become one of the richest men in the country with the work he's done in the mining industry. He would have a personal fortune of about 4 million dollars which is about one billion dollars in today's money. -
WWI Relief Effort
Hoover founded the Commission for Relief in Belgium (CRB) during WWI. The CRB would give out food, clothes, and cash throughout Belgium and other European countries to those affected by the war. -
Great Mississippi Flood of 1927
Hoover was sent by President Calvin Coolidge to help in the rescue effeort after the Great Mississippi Flood. This put him on the cover of almost every newspaper around the country. -
Presidency
Herbert Hoover was widely blamed for the Great depression. He didn't do anything to help the citizens even though the country needed him. -
Died on on October 20, 1964
