Henry VIII married in secret Anne Boleyn while he was still married to Catherine of Aragon. When Anne, just like Catherine, only had a daughter and no sons, Henry blamed her for being a witch. Anne was put on trial and found guilty, and she was executed at the Tower of London. Before Anne was executed she had one child, a girl, the future Elizabeth I of England. -

Henry VIII wanted a divorce from Catherine of Aragon because Catherine couldn't give birth to a male heir to the throne. The Pope refused to divorce them so Henry VIII became the head of the churches in England and gave himself a divorce. Henry VIII had 1 surviving child with Catherine of Aragon. The others had been still borns. The remaining child became Mary I of England. In those days, only males could be the heir to the throne. -

Henry VIII married Jane Seymour. It is reported that she was the only wife Henry VIII ever loved. Jane gave him the only son he would have but sadly Jane died within 2 weeks following the birth of their son. Henry VIII's son would become Edward I of England. When Henry VIII died his tomb was built next to Jane Seymour's tomb. -

Henry VIII divorces Anne of Cleves in court. In court Henry VIII spots Catherine Howard because she is young and still able to give him another heir to the throne in case Edward I of England died. -

Catherine Howard was executed after Henry VIII found out she was having an affair with another man. Catherine Howard was much younger than Henry VIII and was soon bored with their relationship. Catherine was executed at the Tower of London. -

Henry VIII married Catherine Parr in hope she would be more faithful than his past wives, and she was. She was married to him untill the end of his life on 28 January 1547. Catherine's mother was a lady in waiting of Henry VIII's first wife, Catherine of Aragon. Catherine's mother named her daughter after the Queen she had served. Henry VIII's last wife was named after his first.
