retrieval of data
Data was retrieved from the BRFSS database and stored in CSV format on a secure hard drive in a securely locked room. An initial analysis helped to determine if a lack of medical care is a problem in Alabama, and why. -
Alabama analyist is hired
Heart Matters hired a new data analyst for the Alabama location, and asked them to re-review the master data set to determine the top three health concerns the new facility should focus on for healthy hearts in the state of Alabama. The data analyst discovered that the CSV file contained characters that were unreadable by the SQL database during data migration. As a result, some rows of data did not import properly into the database, resulting in data loss. -
Expansion
Heart Matters is a health and wellness center that promotes lifestyle changes to decrease heart disease in the community of Hartsville, TN. In 2018, they expanded their business into several offices in Alabama. -
data transferd to SQL database
During the expansion, the new location received funding to use an SQL database to store, manage, and analyze data. The IT system administrator was instructed to physically transfer the data over to the new location. The data set and codebook were copied to a flash drive, delivered to the new location, and immediately imported into the new system.
