    "Global strategy for health for all by the year 2000"
    the thirtieth Wrold Health Assembly decided that the main goal of goverments should be the attainment of a health level that would permit them to lead socially and economycally productive lives.

    The first international conference on Health Promotion was held in Ottawa, Canada. The Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion outlined five areas in wich Health Promotion action sould be directed:

    Re-orienting health services
