    First, organize medical care for injured soldiers. Early hospitals developed when physicians cared for ill people in rooms in their homes. Later hospitals were religious and charitable institutions housed in monasteries and converts. This is important because it is said when we first started using hospitals

    Hippocrates

    Hippocrates
    "Father of Medicine". helped establish that disease was caused by natural causes, not supernatural spirits and demons. Among the first to stress a good diet. Created "The Hippocratic Oath". This is important because he helped the world start to understand how the disease was spread.

    Ancient Chinese

    Ancient Chinese
    Ancient Chinese believe in the need to cure the spirit and nourish the body. Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, and massages are still commonly used today. This is important because it shows that some of the old medicine can still be used today and works well.

    Emphasis was placed on saving the soul, and the study of medicine was prohibited. Pray was used to treat illness and disease. Medications were mainly herbal mixtures. The average life span was 20 to 30 years. This is important because it shows that people were not liking medicine and stopped learning it and that they had to find new ways to use the medicine.

    Renewed interest in the Medical practice of Greeks and Romans. Physicians began to obtain knowledge at medical universities in the 9th century. Black Death killed three-quarters of the population of Europe and Asia. This is important because it shows that the world had a pandemic and they had to get through that even though it killed lots of people.

    Rebirth of science of Medicine. Dissections of the body began to allow a better understanding of anatomy and physiology. The first chair of medicine was created at Oxford and Cambridge to draw the human body more realistically. This is important because it is showing when they started relearning medicine again.

    Gabriel Fallopius
    He identified the fallopian tubes in the female reproductive system. Described the tympanic membrane in the ear. Also in the 16th and 17th, century women were still dying of childbed fever. This is important because it shows that people were discovering more and more through the years and they discovered the fallopian tubes this time.

    Established scientific surgical procedures.Introduced tube feeding in 1778. Also this year, the mercury thermometer was created and the element oxygen was discovered. These are important because it shows that people were still finding more and more medical and scientific stuff.
