Havaianas 1962
To create the Havaianas, the inspiration was the traditional Japanese Zori finger sandal, with strips of fabric and sole of rice straw. Instead of the straw, the rubber came in, sturdy and soft - made to last. The rice grain inspired the texture of the insole. The name was borrowed from Hawaii, designed by Hollywood as the place of the 1960s dreams. -
Havaianas 1969
So far there were only the traditional blue and white Havaianas. A machinery error produced green Havaianas, which eventually went into the market. Problem? Anything. The people loved. Havaianas took advantage of the wave and began to produce rust, yellow and black pairs. -
Havaianas 1980
Havaianas is as basic as rice-and-beans every day. In the eighties, the Ministry of Finance included the sandals in the list of products fundamental to the life of the Brazilian. -
Havaianas 1995
Havaianas Floral was launched with hibiscus flowers - the first of many Havaianas prints. At that point lines were created, such as Fit and Baby. -
Havaianas 1998
Havaianas begins to cross borders unpretentiously - literally inside the suitcase of people. Some took as a gift. Others to sell informally. Fact is that as Brazilian sandals began to fall I do not like people from all over the world. -

Students from traditional schools in São Paulo protest the right to go to class using Havaianas. Today, some offices have instituted Friday as Havaianas Day. It was a way to warm up to Casual Friday. -
