  • The French & Indian war

    The French & Indian war
    The war started on 1756. The war started because both the French and Native Americans wanted to take power over the ohio river valley. At the begining of the war the French were wining. The war ended in 1763 and the Native Americans or Indians won the war. One problem the British government had was they had alot of debt to pay for the war that happened between them and the French.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    the Treaty of Paris is a document that brought peace between the france and british it was signed in april 12,1229. the british got to have the ohio river valley and Quebec. The French lost almost all of there land. So when the Treaty os Paris was signed it helped some people and some people just had problems with it and the war when it ended.

    Pontiac's War started on 1763 by a loose confederation by british after the war with the french it was primarily from the Great Lakes region, The Illionos Country, and Ohio Country. athe war started out by the Native Americans not liking the policies that the british had that general Jeffery Amherstmade so the Native Americans attacked some forts and settlements that the british had. S0 war got its name from from a cheif.

    The Quartering Act
    It is an act that regired the British soldiers to get food and equipment. The Quartering Act was an amendment to the Mutiny Act and was made to get a renewal by parliment. The law passed in June 2,1765. It was an indirect tax for the coloines and the Brirish had to force the colonies to take the supplies because the British thought that way they would protect the colonies from the French. The colonists were not happy with the law and and did not consider the French a threat.

    It was a settlement that was between the French and British. The settlement started by King George the third. The purpose of the law was to keep the wars from happening between the French and British again. The colonies did not like the idea and were very angry. They did not listen to the law and disobeyed the law.

    The Stamp Act was made to make people pay tax money. So the british can pay of there debt. The colonists were very angry to hear that they had to pay extra money and didn't buy paper at all. The difrence between The Stamp Act and Sugar Act is that when people bought sugar the Sugar Act happened it wasn't that big of a deal but the Stamp Act happened people were angry then before.

    The Sugar Act was made to make people pay more money for taxes. They passed the the law so they can pay money to the people that helped them win the French and Indian war. The colonists were very mad and some snuck in sugar from thr French so they wouldn't have to pay any tax money when they buy sugar from stores.
  • The Stamp Act Congress

    The Stamp Act Congress
    The Stamp Act Congress was held in New York City. The following people came to this act were William Ruggles, William Franklin,Horatio Sharpe,Benning Wentworth, William Tryon, John Ashe, and finally Nova Scotia. Nine colonies were selected for this act. The Declaration of Rights and Grievances is a document that was written by tha Stamp Act Government and passed on in oct 19,1765 it declared that any taxes that is not approved by British colonies is unconstitutional.

    The Townshend Act
    This act was named after Charles Townshend he was the chancellor of exhequer who purposed the program. It was made to stregthen the power of the British Parliment along with the British Royals. The things that had to be taxed were lead, paint, paper, glass, and tea were taxed because of these acts that were passed in 1767. the colonies they boycotted and protested things like that. When the Townshend Act was repealed the Tea remained as a way to taxing even if the Townshend Act was repealed.

    The Boston Massacre
    The events that occured to start the Boston Massacre first thing that happened was Parilement passes the Townshend Act and that didn't go so well so the next thing that happened was the british troops started arriving in boston. That's when coloinsts had enough the Boston Massacre accured.The Boston masscare started when the the soldier was confronted in large group said he was harassed. John adams was the one that helped the soldier. John Adams wanted to give the man a fair chance.Paul revere.

    The reason the Tea Act was made for the East Indian company because they were in trouble fiancialy. So they gave the stuff or tea to the colonies and colonies were taxed because of buying tea. Monopoly means the exclusive possession or control over something.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was a tax that said if u but tea from a store you had to pay tax money. Colonists did not like the idea of having to pay taxes so Samuel Adams and some men snuck in the three ships disgised as indians and dumped all the tea. 342 chests of tea was thrown in to the harbor.
    Group that was responsible for the boston tea party was lead by Samuel Adams called them selfs Sons of Liberty. Response to the Boston Tea Party was shut down the boston harbor & created the Intolerance Act.

    The Intolerable Act
    The Intolerance Acts were passed by the British Parliment because they were in debt and thought the american colonies should pay part of the money by taxing every day things. Another name for the Intolerance Act is Coercive Acts.
    There were four acts they were Impartial Administeration of Justice Act, Massachusetts Bay regulations Act, Boston Port Act, Quartering Act.
  • The First Continental Congress

    The First Continental Congress
    The First Continental Congress was made to discuse the alarming reduction of colonists and taxes for the british governmant. 12 colonies were present at the First Continental Congress. 56 people were there. Two things the colonies agreed to do was one boycott British goods two have a council of safety for every colony. Some people that went to this meeting were Jhn Adams, Samual Adams, Thomas Cushing and other key people.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    Some reasons that British military troops were heading to concord was to look for the rebel leaders (Adams, Hancock,ect) that escaped from Boston due to coercive.The troops went to war. An armed man pledged to be ready to fight on a minute's notice just before and during the Revolutionary War in the United States. In Concord there was a war, the result of the campaign was it failed.
  • The Second Continental Congress

    The Second Continental Congress
    The congress called a second meeting,The Olive Branch Petition was a letter to King George III from members of the Second Continental Congress who appealed to their king to redress colonial grievances in order to avoid further killing in the American revolutionary war. A cause of the Declaration of Independance was slavery and its effect is the NBA.The Second Continental Congress governed the colonies by authorizing the printing of money andsetting up a post office with Franklin in charge.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The Battle of Bunker Hill also known as Breed's Hill. The colonists inteneded to build there defences at Charlestown Peninsula. The person who led the americans to Bunker Hill was William Howe. The strategy that helped the British win the fight was having George Washington there and also leaving Boston and bringing more men and that was a great strategy. The Battle was very hard but they fought well and they call it a very costly victory because alot of men died.
