Slavery had started in Hispaniola in Haiti. In the 17th century Spanish controlled waned. Much of the island had become haven for pirates due to Spain's plan had backfired. -

Newly imported slave were rising slow and steady. It went from 10,000 to 15,000 in just one year in the 1700s. There was about 500,000 slaves in Haiti by the time the Haitian Revolution had started. -
When the slaves had escaped
IN the decades that the Haitian Revolution had been preceding, over 1,000 slaves had escaped. They had escaped from their bondage by flying to a different place. The place they had flown to was the Islands mountains and the Rugged Interior. -
The War Begins
The Haitian Revolution first began in the year 1791. The day and month it had begun was August 14. It was the most successful and the largest slave rebellion in the whole world. -
Slaves getting back at the masters
One night in 1791 in the month of August 21- 22, responding to the call, they had responded to the call of Dutty Boukman One of the Voodoo priest and leader, most of the African slaves had rose up in Haiti, thousands have rose up. The slave had risen up with a bunch of knives and weapons the slaves had begun to fall upon their masters and began repaying the abuse that had been done to them. -
The slaves third day
In early 1792, the slaves of Haiti had the third day that they had controlled. They controlled it on the third day and started to hang their masters and do what they had done to them. They were once a thriving local economy. -
Legislative discusion
There was another round of legislative according to the French. That round had taken place in the month of March in the year of 1792. They were confirming a right to free all people. -
Becoming govener fight
First Consul Napoleon Bonaparte, had declared himself governor for life. He had accordingly had organized a military expedition to the Hispaniola. Later on, he had placed it under his brother-in-law Charles Victor Emmanuel Leclerc. -
The ending of the war at last
The Haitian Revolution had ended in 1804. The month and day it had ended was January 1. It had helped stop most slavery. When slavery had stopped everybody was happy except for the masters of the slaves. -
After the war
They had succeeded in the war. They won and slaves were set free. The slaves were happy to be set free.
