Grundorf Timeline #1 (Entry 3)

  • Niels Bohr (1885-1962) Entry #3

In 1920, Bohr wrote on the term of "correspondence." He formulated the idea as a means of fusion between the theoretical and the observable. For example, black holes were theorized in 1916 with Einstein's theory of General Relativity, but in 1971 the first "true" black hole was discovered. The wedding of the quantum with the physical yield more validity to a scientific claim.
