Now known as Mannhattan, Peter Minuit buys New Amsterdam. Bought for 24$. Later Surrenders it to the English.

Rhode Island Founded

Roger Williams Founds Rhode Island. Colony based on the priciple of religous tolerance. Was an English Protestant.

Fundemental Orders of Conneticut

First drafted constitution in colonial america. Explained the government plans for Conneticut. Also gave men voting rights and chances to run for government positions.

Georgia founded

James Oglethorpe founds Maryland, Last british colony in America. Where the act of tolertation was made.

Act of Toleration in Maryland

Passed by the assembly of the Maryland Colony, it granted people the right to practice religion. It also made so they could not be punished for doing so. Also granted tolerance to Catholics.

Peter Stuyvesant Surrenders

Peter Stuyvesant, leader of the Dutch colony New Amsterdam, surrenders the colony to the english. Surrenders without a shot. He knew that if they went to war with the English it would not be good.

Wlliam Penn founds Pensylvania. Pennsylvania was considered a "Holy experiment" back then. Was given to William Penn as a Payment.

Overthrew King James II. William and Mary took over as rulers of Great Britain. Showed power of elected representatives over monarchs.
