Persian War

499 BCE

The Persian War was a 50 year war between Persia and the Greek city states of Athens and Sparta. They Greek citys states united in order to keep Persia from invading. The main battles were Salamis, Thermoplyae, and Marathon, and were fought on both the land and sea. Golden Age of Athens

495 BCE

The Golden Age of Athens was a fifty year period of peace between the Persian and Peoponnesioan War. It was during this time that Pericles worked towards a more democratic city-state and rebuilt Athens. Peloponnesian War

431 BCE

As Athens rose in power Sparta began to see them as more and more of a threat that needed to be taken out, this how the Peloponnesian War began. Athens was the Delian Leauge, while Sprta formed a new group called the Peloponnesian Leauge. Fall of Greece

146 BCE

The Peloponnesian War left Greece very weak, so PhillipII decided to step in and conquer it. Phillip and later, his son, Alexander the Great, were Macedonian.
