  • Voting Rights Act

    Ended the practice of requiring voters to pass literacy tests and permitted the federal government to monitor voter registration. Is still around today.
  • Higher Education Act

    Funded scholarships and low-interest loans for college students. Is intended to "strengthen the educational resources of our colleges and universities and provide financial assistance for students in post secondary and higher education". Still around today.
