    archbishop Clement V is elected as elected as the new pope of the roman catholic church. This election led for the papacy of the pope to be moved to Avignon for 69 years, which was a terrible choice.

    Pope Gregory XI Dies

    Pope Gregory XI dies while on a visitation to Rome, Pope Urban VI becomes Pope due to crowds wanting an Italian as Pope. Cardinals regret the decision almost immediatly and elect a second pope, pope Geneva (Clement VII). both popes declare other as false.
