Required a stamp for all printed items. -
Stamp Act Repealed
Revoked the stamp act. Sons of Liberty formed and attacked the office and home of the stamp commissioner. They also burned a dummy that represented him, as a warning. -
Townshend Act
Taxing british imports, products shipped from other countries such as glass, tea, lead, paint, and paper -
Townshend Act Repealed
The townshend act was no longer valid but the tax on tea still remained. -
Boston Massacre
An angry mob started throwing rocks and snowballs at the the British soldiers guarding the custom house. Shots rang and 5 colonists were killed. -
Tea Act Passed
The British east India company was loosing money selling their tea. Parliament passed the tea act allowing only the British east India company to sell tea in the colonies. -
Boston Tea Party
Sons of liberty dressed as mohawk indians, boarded ships in boston, and dumped the cargo of tea into the harbor. -
1st Continental Congress
Each colony, except Georgia, sent delegates to meet in Philadelphia. Whispers of independence were in the air. -
Coercive Act Passed
The Boston Harbor would be closed until the damaged tea was paid for. -

Parliament had all the power to make laws that were strong enough to keep the people in the colonies under Great Britian's control. -

The second continental congress me to formally adopt the document. This would mean independence from Great Britain and the king. -
