  • Japan's Surrender to Vietnam

    On the day Japan surrendered, the Vietnamese leader, Ho Chi Min, quoted the US Declaration of Independence to show the US and the rest of the world that Vietnam was now independent.
  • US was attacked

    In August 1964 two destroyers were checking the perimiters of the Tonkin Golf and were reportedly shot at by Vietnamese ships, and with this, the president of the US, LBJ manuvered the US to apply more military force in Indochina.
  • Vietnam's Reaction

    The Vietnamese saw the help the US brought them and approved and wanted them to help fight off communism alongside.

    The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was the confirmation of the request by LBJ to take control of the presence of the US in Vietnam, and this document was the legal approval for the US to enter the war.
  • Operation Rolling Thunder

    Operation Rolling Thunder was the decision made by the president of the US, Johnson, when the chance to weaken Hanoi came upon them, and it continued up until the spring of 1967, he also had ground troops attack the North as well, the Viet Cong.
