This helped her in being able to give a speech in front of the senate on May 6th, 1970 for Equal Rights Amendment. Stating that it should not matter on one's sex to secure one's right and that there should be no denied from the U.S. or it's states.

Delivering about how sex and race is just another way for organization to categorized people. She argued that in society a status seems to be one that is chosen or earned.     Gloria attended one of the first women's conference that was backed by the US government. There were many powerful women who attended such as First lady Rosalynn Carter and so on. Many of what was spoken there was not for lawmaking but making proposals for a wider spread equality. Some outcomes from this was Declaration of American Women, Battered Women, and so on.
