In England, the Second Industrial Revolution is registered constituting a new form of colonization from 1850 to 1895. In the period between 1870 and 1914, the name given to this action was Neocolonialism. -
Russian Industrialization
The first period of fast industrialization finally occurs in Russia during the decade of 1880-1890. This meant there was a vast growth in the factory market in this country. -
Triple Alliance was founded
Germany, Austria-Hungary, and later included; Italy, all make a pact to protect each other in the unfortunate event of a war. This pact was established as the famous "triple alliance". -
First Berlin Conference held in Germany
The first Berlin Conference in history was held between various European countries like Austria-Hungary, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden-Norway, Turkey, and the United States of America. It was during this event that these imperial countries traded and established African borderlines, just like "kids would trade baseball cards". This was a great time for imperialsts, especially the ones in on the scramble for Africa. -
First ever Sino-Japanese War
In 1884, a conflict emerged between the Japanese and the Chinese that would finally establish China as a weak empire, and Japan as one of the world major forces. During this war, Japan took advantage of it's strategic location and established trade relations with Korea, who had been China's client for a long time. -
Indian National Congress
The Indian National Congress was established in Bombay. At first, this congress was not established under the idea of a political party, but for people who opposed reforms. Later on, during the very early 1900's, this congress commenced pushing towards independence from the British. -
Spanish-American War
After the sinking of the Battleship Maine in Havana harbor on February 15, 1898, the United States formally declared war on Spain. The war later ended with the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1898. As a consequence of this war, Spain lost controls over Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Philippines Islands, Guam, and other islands. This was a large stepback for Spain in an imperial sense. -
Seperation of Panama from Colombia
With the support of the U.S. government, Panama issues a Panama finally declared independence from Colombia. The revolution was prepared by a "Panamanian faction backed by the Panama Canal Company", this coorporation was part American, and their plan was to build the Panama canal, that planned to connect the Atlantic and Pacific oceans with a waterway across Panama. -
Awareness of German power
Months of intense negotiation between the old rivals, France and Great Britain, finally established in 1904 with the company/signature of the Cordiale Restrictive practice, that there was to be a balance in powers in Europe. France and Great Britain were right to set this agreement. -
Triple Entente
By 1907, the Triple Entente was formed between Russia, France and Great Britain as a reaction to the formation of the Triple Alliance. This was a very important time in history, since the "teams" that would participate in the Great War would be established.
