The Mississipian Indians were the most advanced civilization. They stayed in one place(villages) due to advance agriculture. These native American had first contact with the euorpeans. -

Hernando de soto
Hernando de soto was an explorer who opened new doors for other explorers in his time period. He concurred many Indian tribes and caused many deaths because of diseases and war. He was in search of gold in the North America. -
Charter of 1732
The Charter of 1732 was made because the people in Georgia because they couldn't do what the Carolina royal colony could do. They argued that they would be doing better if they were a royal colony, so the king made them one. This is just a charter establishing Georgia from a trustee colony to a royal colony. -
Oglethorpe Arrives
when he arrived he found out where he wanted to settle there was some Indians there(yamacraw Indians). Their leader was Tomochichi and they met and had a talk. They were able to talk to each other because of Mary Musgrove. -
Salzburgers Arrive
They were kicked out of Austria for not being catholic and Oglethorpe let them go to the new colony. Oglethorpe chose some of the land there for them and it was a bad location, it was swampy, had lots of mosquitoes caring diseases, and bad water.Since it was a bad location Oglethorpe gave them some more, and the purpose for them being there was religious freedom(Charity). -
Highland Scots Arrive
They were recruited(chosen) to go to Georgia by James Oglethorpe.They were there to help protect the colony in case the Spanish in Florida were to attack.James recruited them because they were strong soldiers, unafraid, and were able to live of land. -

American Revolution
This war was the 13 colonies in America against the British. Had 5 reasons why this happened(Proclamation of 1763,French and Indian war, Stamp Act, Intolerable Acts, and the Declaration of Independence). They got their freedom from England. -
Battle of kettle Creek
This lasted for about 4 hours. One of the group of loyalist was marching a group through Augusta, Georgia and decided to settle down near the creek. That's where the Patriots attacked them around 10 A.M. -
Constitutional Convention
Only four went and only two signed the final document. The two that signed it were Abraham Baldwin and William Few. They did't know if the other 9 would sign it and many people were objected because it was missing a Bill of Rights. -
Georgia Ratifies Constitution
In Augusta,Gerogia they had a special meeting to consider the proposed charter, and the other colonies signed it. -
Austin Dabney
He was a slave but then he became a private in Georgia and fought against the British in the American Revolution. He also the only African American granted land. He granted it because of his bravery in the American Revolution.
