Booker T. Washington was the founder of the Tuskegee institution in Alabama. -

This case promoted segregation. It violated the 14th amendment. Plessy was white and black. He sat in a white only seat to test the law. -
Alonzo Herndo
He was born a slave. He soon became a successful business man with mutual Insurance Company. This business made him successful by hiring collage graduates to run his company. -
1906 Atlanta Riot
During the Atlanta riot white mobs killed dozens of blocks wounded scores and inflicted property damage. The whites heard black males were assassins white females. The white did not like this at all. -
WEB DuBois
He was an Atlanta University professor. He thought the truth and knowledge would help different race understand each other. He wanted social and political integration. -
Leo Frank Case
The Leo Frank Case is one of the most notorious case in Georgia. A jew from Atlanta was convicted of the murder of a 13 year old girl. She worked for him at the Pencil Factor. -

Borrowing money, speculating the stock, and producing to much farm products were causes of the Great Depression. The great Depression was horrible to all Americans. They couldn't afford to buy things so business had to shut down. The economy was the worst its ever knew. -

The impact of the Holocaust on Georgians was minimal. Atlanta shared a strong connection with Holocaust survivors. Atlanta contains many Holocaust survivors and memorial efforts. -
Civilian Conservation Corps
The CCC was on the first New Deal programs. It was a public works project intended to promote environment conservation. -
Agricultural Adjustment Act
This was a U.S. federal law of the New Deal ERA. Its purpose was to reduce crop surplus. This meant that crop prices would increase. The money for this was generated through exclusive tax. -

Rural Electrification
In 1935 the Rural Electrification Act was introduced by the New Deal. This gave rural areas electricity. Before this act only 10% of the rural areas had electricity. -

This provided aid for Americas military in different countries. This act was proposed in the late 1940 and passed in March 1941. -
Pearl Harbor
On December 10, 1941 hundreds of Japanese fighters planes attacked the U.S. naval bases at Pearl Harbor. The attack lasted two hours but it was devastating. The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 U.S. naval vessels.
