July 19,1990 Saddam deployed 40,000 Republican Guards to the Iraqi-Kuwait border, Kuwait assumed Saddam was bluffing, Kuwaiti armed forces ordered to stand down. July 31st at a summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Iraq demands $10 billion for loss of Rumailia oil. -
Soviet Union Collapses
A series of events followed that led to the
end of the Soviet Union. Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia
declare their independence), Rise of Boris Yeltsin as a popular
democratic leader, Failed coup by hard-line communists. -

On September 11, 2001, Al Qaeda hijacked four large airplanes in America. Two were crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City and one was crashed into the U.S. Pentagon. -
Operation Desert Storm
It lasted from August 21 1990 to February 28 1991.
It was a massive war between Saddam Hussein the leader of the Iran forces and the Americans in the Two deserts of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. -
