Genghis's army storms through Central Asia

• killed anyone who didn't join the army

• people began to surrender to them on the spot

Khan begins his final campaign

Jan 1, 1226

• As punishment for disobedience, Genghis leads his army to Xi Xia
• diverts a canal and water threatens to flood the city of Ningxia, forcing the troops to surrender
• The aging and ill general ordered his army to remove any trace of Xi Xia
• completely destroy entire towns and villages
• In the end, Genghis Khan created an empire double that of anyone before him
