Temujin is born
Around 1162 Genghis was born. He was born in northern Mongolia. He was born with a blood clot in his hand, a mongol folklore that he was destined to be a king (Biography.com). He was originally named Temujin, after a Tatar chieftain that his father captured (Biography.com). He later got his new title Genghis Khan when his father died. young Genghis spent most of his childhood with his future wife, Borte (Biography.com). -

Genghis's father dies
In 1171 Genghis father Yesukhei dies. On his way home, Yesukhei encountered members of the rival Tatar tribe. They offered him a dinner that they had make for him,but what he didn't know was that they a laced it with poison. He later died from the poison. when Genghis learned of his death he returned home to claim his position as clan chief (Biography.com). This tragic event marked the start of Genghis's rule. -

Mohammed completes the conquest of upper India
In 1203 Mohammed of Ghor Completed the conquest of upper India (The Timetables of History 164). The conquests of Muhammad of Ghur (1175-1206) established the first great Muslim empire in Northern India, stretching from the Punjab to Bengal. During the period of his greatest successes in India Muhammad was his brother's viceroy in Ghazni, and spend much of his time campaigning in Afghanistan or eastern Persia (http://www.historyofwar.org/). -

In 1203 Genghis Khan defeated his rival Ong Khan (The Timetables of History 164). Genghis's rival Ong Khan was his blood brother. Ong Khan agreed on a alliance to ambush and kill Genghis (https://mongolhistorypodcast.wordpress.com/ong-khan/). Genghis escaped and regrouped his me to kill Ong Khan. In the end Genghis was successful in defeating his new rival. -

Genghis is Crowned Khan
In 1206 Genghis would be crowned the chief prince of the Mongols. (The Timetables of History 164). When Genghis's father died he returned to his tribe to become their new leader. Now that Genghis has power he would start to assemble his army and other important things to help make his rule great. -

invasion of Xi Xia
In 1207 Genghis led his armies against the kingdom of Xi Xia (Bioraphy.com). After two years of fighting Genghis's army forced the kingdom to surrender. Genghis's gigantic armies were no match for those that he battled against. Also Genghis had an extremely smart battle plan and lots of skill. with these strengths Genghis was able to make large kingdoms like Xi Xia to surrender. -

Philip of Swabia
In 1208 Philip of Swabia, the German king was murdered by Otto of Wittlesbach (The Timetables of History 104). He spent the first decade of his rule engaged in civil war against the emperor Otto VI who wanted the crown. The conflict was settled by a truce in 1207 and in 1208 Pope Innocent III recognized Philip as king but was murdered by Otto of Wittelsbach, to whom he had refused to give one of his daughters in marriage (http://www.biography.com/people/philip-39627). -

The emperor of Rome
In 1209 Otto IV was crowned the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire (The Timetables of History 164). He was crowned on October 4. In November of 1210 he conquered southern Italy. In 1211 Genghis invaded china (The Timetables of History 166). Genghis started his invasion of China in 1211 and ended it in 1215. in this time he conquered many settlements and cities. He completely obliterated is and stormed right through. Genghis didn't just conquer and just leave, he learned everything he could from the people of the land that he was invading.the strategy of conquering was a very smart and efficient one. -

The JIn Dynasty
In 1211 Genghis Khan's army sturck the Jin Dynasty in northern China (Biography.com). there were two halves to the Jin Dynasty. There was the eastern Jin Dynasty and the western Jin Dynasty. Genghis did not care about what side to attack. He went in with the idea of defeating and ending the Jin Dynasty. He reached his goal by putting an end to the Jin Dynasty in 1211. -

In 1214 Philip II of France defeated Otto IV and the English in the Battle of Bovines (The Timetables of History 166). The Battle of Bovines took place on July 27, 1214. The battle was fought over international coalition between many countries and leaders (https://www.britannica.com/event/Battle-of-Bouvines). The battle was won by Philip II of France and his army. -

Overran Beijing
In 1215 Genghis khan and his army successfully overran Beijing (Notorious Lives 400). Genghis and his army again defeat another place and add it to his growing empire. Beijing the capital of China was a great conquest because of its great reasources. With this land now part of Genghis's empire the Mongols had easy acces to growing many crops and the rice fields. the ricie fields were important because the easy picking and the money that rice is worth (Biography.com). -

The Khwarzim Dynasty
In 1219 the planning to bring an end to the Khwarzim Dynasty. Genghis personally took control over planing a three-prong attack of 200,000 Mongol soldiers against the dynasty (Biography.com). In planning the attack by himself he was taking a big risk he had the life of 200,000 men in his hands. If he messed up it could end very badly for him. But in the end Genghis brought an end to the Khwarzim Dynasty in 1221 (Biography.com). -

Magna Carta Reissued
In 1225 the third reissue of the Magna Carta was put into action (The Timetables of History 168). Henry III had an issue of the Magna Carta made in return for a grant to him of taxation ( http://www.magnacarta.senate.gov.au/index.php/reissues/). The Magna Carta is a doccument that, "was a series of written promises between the king and his subjects that he, the king, would govern England and deal with its people according to the customs of feudal law" (The history Learning site) -

Genghis Dies
On August 18 1227 Genghis Khan died. he died soon after the submission of the Xi Xia (Biography.com). the exact cause of his death is unknown. Some people believe that he fell of his horse and died of internal inquires and others believe that he died of a respiratory disease (Biography.com). When he died his empire was split up among his three sons, Jochi, Batu and Sartaq (The timetables of History 168). this date marked the end of Genghis's rule as Khan.
