  • Indian's Relief Bill

    This bill eliminated the extra tax on Indian citizens who had not renewed indentures. One of the successes of Gandhi's protests.

  • Gandhi became the INC leader

    He was influenced by the Amritsar Massacre and past discrimination. Gandhi became the leader of the Indian National Congress.

  • Salt March

    Indian people were prohibited from making salt. Gandhi led 50,000 Indians on a 200 mile march in protest.

  • Time Magazine Feature

    India was finally granted independence from the British. A lot of thanks was given to Gandhi for his leadership.

  • Indian Independence Act

    There was a violence between the two religions. About 50,000 died, and at least 15 million migrated. This divided India into two separate regions.

    Because of the Indian Independence Act, there was lots of rioting. Gandhi was shot by a Hindu man.
