    This is where it started, it is the evolution of paper. The invention of paper was begun in China(105 CE) by a Chinese called Cai Lun. It was made by an accident while they were making clothes out of hemp.

    Paper was easy to carry, easy to write and cheap. Paper production increased since a lot of people needed paper for writing new things. Paper was invented for wrapping precious objects, hats, toilet paper and other things. People were writing on bamboo, wood and silk. They started writing on paper.

    Woodblock printing made it easier to make a copy than let many people write or draw. Many people could have a copy and even paper money became available. Around 600 A.D the Chinese invented woodblock printing. This is where you carve a piece of wood, put an ink on it and then stamp on paper many copies of the same thing.
    By 740 A.D., the first printed newspaper was seen in China.

    The difference between woodblock printing press and Guttenburg printing press is that woodblock is faster than writing but there was a problem, if you make a mistake on a carved wood you have to carve it again. Besides Guttenburg had metal blocks with letters on it so if you made a mistake you can switch blocks. An inventor Johannes Gutenberg from Mainz, Germany began experimenting with printing in France in 1440. By 1450, he had a printing machine perfected and ready to use commercially.

    The reason why they changed paper made out of wood from cotton is for example, we need to grow cotton but there was too less so they decided to use wood because they’re everywhere around the world. By 1844, Canadian Charles Fenerty and Friedrich Gottlob Keller sought to pulp wood, and they announced that they had invented a machine that extracted fibers from wood.
