Sugar Act
<ahref='http://www.socialstudiesforkids.com/wwww/us/sugaractdef.htm' >Social Studie for Kids</a>The Sugar Act was passed on April 5th, 1764. This act put a three cent tax on foreign refined sugar. It all so added the tax to coffee, indigo, and different types of wine. Another thing that it did other then add tax it banned rum and French wines from being imported. They felt as it was unfair to them(taxation without representation) they felt as if the king was infringing their freedom. -
Stamp Act
Social Studies for KidsThe Stamp Act required that all newspapers, pamphlets, and other documents legal or not legal had to have a stamp or the british seal on it. Stamps costed money, which made the colonists mad because they felt that this shouldn't be enforced because they have never done it and it was free. -
Quartering Act
Quatering ActThe Quartering Act required that all colonies provides supplies along with barracks to the British troop. This in known as an indirect tax for colonist. -
Boston Massacre
Boston MassacreThe Boston Massacre was when five colonists were murdered by the British regulars. It's because the tension caused by the townshend act. The Townshend Acts was to raise revenue in the colonies to pay salaries of governors and judges so that they would be independent of colonial rule and to create a more effective way of enforcing compliance with trade regulations. This is salutary neglect because killing people isn't obedient. -
Tea Act
Tea ActThe tea act was the act that had a monopoly on tea purchases. Which was to the East India Company. This mean't that Americans couldn't purchase tea unless it came from that company. This is mercantillism because they believe in profitable trading. -

Boston Tea PartyThe Boston Tea Party was a protest against the importation of American tea. Massachusett Patriots did a midnight raid and threw tea into the harbor. -

The AssociationThe Association prohibited trading between Great Britian. They sometimes made execptions depending on what it was but they stopped the import of goods, consumption, and export of goods to England. -
