Storming of the Bastille
The Bastille was a medieval fortress that held prisoners. The Bastille was attacked and captured by the French revolutionists in order to seize the ammunition inside. after demanding the ammunition and being refused they violently attacked the fortress. Along with taking over the building they beheaded the governor and carried his head around on a spike through the streets to send a message. This is said to be the start of the revolution. -
The Reign of Terror
The Reign of Terror was a time frame where revolutionists would behead the people who fought against the French revolution, with a guillotine. This was a result of the government taxing the lower class more and jailing citizens who believed in the revolution. The revolutionists thought that it was important to instill fear to your enemies.
