    Meeting of the Estates General.
    King Louis XVI called for a meeting of the Estates General due to recent financial problems. They met up at Versailles to decide on a been taxing system for the third estate. Each estate only had one vote which almost guaranteed the first and second estate would outrule the third estate. The third estate suggest they go by majority instead. This including other events lead to the creation of the Nationals Assembly.

    King Louis XVI did not like the third estates idea of the "National Assembly", and locked them out of their meetings. The third estate then went to a nearby tennis court and took an oath. They said they would not leave or separate until a new constitution was written.

    The Storming of the Bastille is known as the official beginning of the French Revolution and is celebrated to this day. The Bastille was a symbol of the king and his monarchy. An angry mob made up of the third class stormed into the prison after the governor denied handing over the weapons inside. They only found 7 prisoners and a few weapons.

    The third class, pheasants, threw riots targeting the aristocrats. They were upset because they did not have any money to afford food. They weakened the second class by braking in and killing them. The second class would flee from the country out of fear.

    Women of France threw a riot towards the king and queen and even ran into the building looking for an attack. They felt a strong desire to do this after witnessing thier families including them starving to death. These events ended the kings independence and signified a new rising power.

    Jean-Paul Marat was a radical journalist of the French Revolution. He would write down people who were suspected to not support the Revolution and encouraged more executions. Charlotte Corday was tired of the French Revolution and wanted the country to be brought back together. In attempt the stop all the execution she kills Marat with a knife. Instead of shutting him up she makes him more popular after a artist painted him dead in his bathtub, which looked much like a painting of Jesus.

    During this time the Committee of Public Safety took measures to insure everyone supported the revolution.Their leader Robespierre wanted to terror the people of France and would execute anyone that was suspected to not support the Revolution. About 17,000 were officially executed including the king and queen. Ironically King Louis XVI helped in the making of the guillotine in which he and many other were executed by. Robespierre kept pushing for more executions until he was executed July 27.

    Robespierre is one of the most recognizable names when it comes to the French Revolution. He was a influential leader of the Reign of Terror. Robespierre and a couple other commit suicide. Robespierre fails to successfully shot himself and busts his jaw. He is then officially executed in the guillotine. This acts as the end of the Reign of Terror.

    The directory was a new constitution written to separate powers and further reform France. It was made up of two chambers, one for proposing legislator and the other to approve. You could only be apart of the directory if you we're rich, this lead to little being done to help the nation. The Directory become corrupt and was quickly ended.

    Napoleons took control in 1799 by organizing a Coup de 'etate.He made up the Napoleonic Code which they still use to day with little changes. His ideas strongly supported the ideas of enlightenment but women lost their newly gained rights. He started out saying he was one of the three consuls, then changed it to just him as the consul, and finally crowned himself emperor of France. Napoleon war a very smart military leader and conquered quite a bit of Europe and made strong alliances.
