Meeting of the Estates General in Versailles
The French Monarch was after more money. On May 5, 1789, he called the Estates General to meet in Versailles to create a new land tax to get him that money. Attack on the Bastille

Declaration of the Republic
The Legisaltive Assembly disbanded and replaced itself with the National Convention.
