France was very unsafe so Louis and his family left for the Austrian Netherlands but were caught and returned to Paris. -
New Constitution- Limited Monarchy
Louis approved of the constitution that limited the constitutionsl monarchy. It took away a lot of the king's authority. -
Legislative Assembly declares war on Austria & Prussia
Countries are scared of revolutionary ideas and urge France to restore Louis the XVI his position as absolute monarch, so the Legislative assembly declares war. -
Invasion of Tuileries
20,000 people invaded the Tuileries palace where they royal family was staying. All the guards were killed and the royal family was imprisoned -
The Monarchy is Abolished
The monarchy was abolished and France became a republic.
