France was in a financial crisis before Louis called the estates general. He had spent a lot of their money leaving them in debt. There was tension when the Estates General was called. This was because the first and second estate always voted against the third leaving them with essentially no vote. -

Napoleon launched his most unsuccessful attack ever in Russia. He suffered a major defeat, and this allowed other countries to attack him. -

The congress of Vienna held a series of meeting to ensure peace. They gave up land to other countries so that they all had the "same" amount of power. -
Napoleon defeated at Waterloo
Napoleon escaped exile and launched one final attack on Britain. It failed because Britain had the best navy, leaving Napoleon beat for good.
