Monarchical stage
The Third Estate disobeyed the order issued by Louis XVI and met separately, thus constituting the National Assembly, an attitude that marked the outbreak of the revolution. -
The Legislative Assembly
The king from his prison in the Tuileries secretly conspired against revolutionary France. the Assembly decreed the suspension of Louis XVI, depriving him of his authority. -
Convention
When the Constituent Assembly was dissolved after Valmy's victory, another assembly called the National Convention was formed. -
The Directory (1795-1799)
Before closing its sessions, the National Convention promulgated the Constitution of the year III, in 1795, which established the Directory, a moderate republican government
