    This event was the first thing that officially marked the start of the French Revolution. The event consisted of three different estates. The clergy, nobility, and commoners. These three estate groups had the power to decide on new taxes and different reforms throughout their country. This meeting took place in Versailles.

    The Tennis Court Oath was a pledge. Members of the French Third Estate signed it. This pledge was a very important revolutionary act. It stated/displayed the beliefs that the political authority came did not come from the monarchy. The pledge stated that it came from the nation's people.

    This event was put into action because of the National Assembly. It was a major event of the French Revolution. The National Assembly took any old rules, old taxes, old laws, and more, and completely got rid of them. All of the things that were abolished were from the age where feudalism was popular. They abolished the entire feudalism system.

    In august of seventeen-eighty nine, the National Assembly issued the Declaration of the Rights of Man. This Declaration was mostly issued toward men, but citizens were included as well. The Declaration stated that all men were born with equal rights and liberty. These equal rights are liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression. Citizens were granted the right to freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and equal justice.

    The goal of the women during this time was to get Louis XVI back to Paris. Louis XVI was not fulfilling his role of being King. These women all agreed that he was very irresponsible. They thought that he would much better back in Paris, where he could continue on with his reforms. The women march on Versailles until the King responded.

    The Royal Family was arrested while attempting to flee from France. There were forced to leave Paris after the women's march on Versailles. The took a horse driven carriage to try to get away, which was not the best approach. The Royal Family was arrested in a town called Varennes. This was only 31 miles off from where they started.

    In august of seventeen-ninety one, Austria and Prussia issue the Declaration of Pilnitz. The purpose of this Declaration was to use european powers to fix the monarchy. They wanted to fix/restore/unit the monarchy of France. King Louis XVI's power was reduced during this time period.

    In April of 1792, France decided to declare and start a war with Austria. The war was going to be fought because both sides thought that it would unite and unify their countries. These wars were also fought between the two because of the idea that Revolountiary thinking would be spread all throughout Europe by war. By France fighting with Austria, and then more battles fought elsewhere, new ideas would be spread to new areas.

    On august tenth of seventeen-ninety two, the people of paris went to the Tuileres Palace. At this palace, was the residence of Louis XVI. Louis XVI was brought here after he was forced to escape from Paris. The people of paris came to attack because they were mad. They wanted to abolish the monarchy and the king.
  • Louis XVI is executed

    Louis XVI is executed
    Louis XVI was executed on January 1st, of 1793. He was executed because he was convicted of conspiracy with foreign powers. This decision was made by the French National Convention. He was killed by a guillotine. This machine is used for chopping off someones head. His death was showcased infront of a crowd.
