    The heads of every estate in France met to try to reform the government and economy. It pushed the French Revolution forward because when the third estate realized they were being ignored, they broke away from the government.

    Tennis Court Oath
    The Tennis Court Oath was a meeting where the French third estate held the National Assembly until they finished writing the new constitution which benefitted the neglected Third Estate. This was one of the first sign of opposition to the king which angered him towards the Third Estate.

    During the March on Versailles, women from markets in Paris gathered outside the Pallace of Versailles forcing the royals to return back to Paris. After this, the Third Estate realized the power they had over the royals due to their overwhelmingly large population.

    After being tried in court by the French National Convention, King Louis was sentenced to execution by guillotine. In front of thousands of French Revolutionists and the National Guard, King Louis XVI was beheaded.

    The Reign of Terror was civil war-like conflict between two rival political factions, the Girondins and the Jacobins, during the revolution. It was marked by mass executions of “the enemies of the revolution.” At the end of the period, the death toll came to 17,000 executed by guillotine and another 25,000 executions across France all together.

    Maximillian Robespierre was responsible for encouraging the guillotine and putting over 17,000 enemies of the revolution to death. He was then arrested along with 21 of his friends then later all of them were executred.

    Napoleonic Code is established
    The Napoleonic Code changed commercial and criminal law, and divided civil law into categories of property and family. The Napoleonic Code made the authority of men over their families stronger, revoked women of their newly-given freedoms, and took away the rights of adpoted children. It gave Napoleon power over the legislatives in France.

    Napoleon Crowns himself emperor
    Napoleon went to the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris where he crowned himself and became the self-proclaimed Emperor of France. He snatched the crown from the Pope since he wouldn't crown the tyrant conquerer.

    The Peninsular War was part of the Napoleonic Wars fought in the Iberian Peninsula, where the French were opposed by British, Spanish, and Portuguese forces. The French were defeated and it heavily undermined the army of France untimately weakening the country.

    The newly appointed Emperor Napoleon Bonapart crossed the Russian border invading Russia. The result was a major defeat for the French. The invasion lasted six months, and the strong French Army lost more than 300,000 men where as Russia lost 200,000.

    Napoleon is exiled to Elba
    Napolean retreated to Elba after tension had formed in the population against Napolean. He was exiled out of the country and renounced from his throne, which is better than him being slaughtered by the people. He was sent to the island of Elba where he lived out the rest of his life.

    Napoleon dies
    Naepoleon dies at the age of 51 due to a stomach cancer. It was never confirmed what he died of but many assume it was the cancer.
