The American Revolution begins
The American revolution was a war that involved the American Colonies and Great Britian. The Americans were fighting for their independence against Britian. Causes of this war was that Britian needed money so they created many acts in attempt to get money. -
Tennis Court Oath
The Tennis Court Oath was consisted of the third estate. They all took an oath that they would not disband their group until there was a new French constitution. The third estate wanted to have the same rights as the first and second estate. -
Fall of the Bastille
Around this time people in the third estate were creating many uprisings. A particular uprising cause the fall of Bastille. In Bastille was just seven prisoners and royal armory. Causing the fall of Bastille symbolized as a triumph against the monarchy. -
The Great Fear begins
The Great Fear was a period of time where the French Revolution was just beginning. During this time riots were starting to happen. They consisted of mainly peasants and other people in the third estate. -
Declaration of the Rights of Man
This declaration included seventeen articles that explained the rights of every citizen in France. In artice one it is said that all men are born free and equal. Some of the people that helped draft this was major thinkers of the Enlightenment. -
The Women's March
This piticular march was made up of all women demanding bread for their families. It was known to be hidden in the palace of Versailles. The Women's March essentialy brought down the monarchy in Versailles. -
Execution of King Louis
In Auguest the year of 1792, King Louis and his wife Marie Antoinette were arrested and imprisoned by the sans-cullottes. That January Louis was charged gulity and was sentenced to his death by a narrow majority. Marie Antoinette was charged guility with treason was sentences a death on October 16th. -
Reign of Terror Starts
French citizens rebuilt their country’s political landscape. It was influenced by Enlightenment ideals. Goals were not met but the shaping of the modern nation showed the power of the will in people. -
Execution of the Robespierre
Robespierre was an architect of the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror. He was overthrown and arrested by the National Convention. He won enimes by calling a trail on King Louis for treason. -
The directory was established
The directory lasted only 4 years in the French Revolution. It included Council of Fivehundred, Council of Ancients, and there was five Directors. These directors to over the responsibilities of the Commitee of Public Safety.
