    King louis the 16th created the beggining of the french revolution, by recklessly spending money. this led up to the french asking for a new land tax levy

    Honore Gabriel Riqute led the third estate, and soon the third estate called themselves the National Assembly. They wanted everyone to pay taxes and not just them and also wanted everyone to vote on things. they then locked the chamber doors and pledged at a near by tennis court to never leave until things are basically re-established.

    The Bastille was thought to have a lot of weapons and slaves that were being held captive. it eventually was stormed and taken over by a Paris mob on July 17th. The weapons were needed to help defend the National Assembly
