King Louis XVI called the first meeting in 1614. the second meeting King Louis XVI
called was in 1789 and was because the french government had a financial problem at the time. the first issue they had was brought up to the estates general on how they could vote. -
Tennis Court Oath
the Third Estate started calling themselves the National Assembly. the deputies discovered a chamber door that was locked and guarded by soldiers. King Louis XVI established an indoor tennis court. the Third Estate would constantly continue to protest to have more indoor tennis court where they took a solemn collective oath not to separate. -

the storming of Bastille took place in Paris, France July 14, 1789. the Bastille was a fortress that was built in the late 1300s. it was built t protect Paris during the 100 year war. -

Royal Family attempts to flee
The royal family attempted to flee Paris. King Louis XVI realized that things were becoming dangerous for them because of the Revolution. When they were caught the trust to them faded completely and the revolutionary government became hostile towards to royal family. -

King Louis XVI was still the king, even though he was under a constitution. Two days before National Constituent Assembly issued a decree that King Louis XVI would remain king under a constitutional monarchy. A constitutional monarchy is when the King or Queen doesn’t have absolute power. Instead they share the power with a constitution. -
Overthrow of the monarchy
the monarchy happened on August 10, 1792. that was the day in which the French revolutionaries were over thrown the monarchy because they found Louis XVI guilty of treason. -
Execution of the King (January 21, 1793)
This was the day that King Louis XVI was executed by the guillotine. The revolutionaries forced Marie Antoinette to watch has the king got his cut off but the guillotine. One day after being convicted of conspiracy with foreign powers and sentenced to death by the French National Convention, King Louis XVI is executed by guillotine in Paris. -
Execution of the Queen
the day that Marie Antoinette was executed by the guillotine. She was executed after the Reign of Terror started. two days later Marie Antoinette was convicted by the Revolutionary Tribunal. -
Execution of Robespierre (July 27 1794)
This was towards the end of the French Revolution. He was against the death penalty but he played the biggest role in the execution of King Louis XVI. The French people didn’t like him so they ordered his arrest. He was arrested alongside his brother. They were trialed and sent to the guillotine the very next day.
