The feudal system was the system of the organization of the Social Classes. On Aug 4, 1789, the National Assembly abolished the Feudal System and supposedly the social classes would change. -
The declaration of the rights of man and of the citizens
Ideas from past enlightenment philosophers influenced the French National Assembly to create the Declaration of the rights of man and the citizens. It stated that there would be no more monarchy which was the whole cause of the revolution. -
Louis XVI attempts to flee to Varennes
Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, his wife, decided to flee the country but were not successful. They were not handling the economy in France well so they thought their best idea was to flee, but they eventually got caught and this led to them being arrested. -
France declares war on Britain and Holland
The convention declares war now on Britain and Holland. Also in February 1793, there is the counter-revolutionary revolt in the Vendee. -
Arrest and execution of Robespierre.
Maximilien Robespierre is arrested by the National Convention. He had killed many people with the guillotine son now it was his turn, he and 21 of his followers were executed. This was the end of terror. -
France declares war on Austria
On 1792, the Legislative Assembly of France declared war on Austria. France had a very disorganized army and they were weak and Austria had allied with Prussia. This was the beginning of the French Revolutionary Wars. -
Louis XVI execution
Louis XVI, the king of France was executed. This means that his head was cut out of his body using the guillotine, a machine invented in that time for this specific purpose.
