This was a time period where they were trying to work out how they were going to pay for all of the wars they had been involved in. They wanted to do this by taxation, but they needed to assemble and decide how. -
Storming of the Bastille
The Storming of the Bastille was when a state prison was attacked by an angry mob. The Bastille was full of weaponry that the mob wanted to seize. They killed the governor and carried his head around on a stick. -
The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen
The declaration of the rights of man and citizen was created during the French National Constituent Assembly. It states the individual and collective rights of every person during the French revolution. -
Women's March on Versailles
A crowd of a lot of people, mostly women marched to Versailles. They demanded to see "The Baker", "The Bakers Wife" and the "Baker's Boy". The King met with a small group of women and agreed to distribute all of the bread to the crowd. -
France Declares War on Austria
Overall, the general public in France was in favor of war. The people of the government wanted a war to knock down the new government that was forming and unify the country. This lead them to declare war on Austria. -
Execution of King Louis
The Committee of Public Safety put King Louis to death by guillotine after he was convicted of treason. It was a majority vote that was nearly unanimous. -

The Reign of Terror was a period of time in which the Third Estate rose up against the monarchy, taking a violent approach. -
Execution of Marie Antionette
Marie was indicted for treason months after her husband's execution. She asked to not suffer long but spent two and a half months living in squalor before she was put to death. -
Execution of Robespierre
The leader of the reign of terror was overruled and executed. It is believed that he was killed because he put two of his fellow politicians to death after a suspected bribe. -
Napoleon's Coup d'etat
Napoleon invaded France and took over by the means of Coup d'etat. He catered toward those in the third estate which meant that they allowed him to lead them in a new monarchy.
