Louis XVI called a meeting to the Estates-General in Versailles to discuss about the changes in taxes. -
"The National Assembly"
The Third Estate claim themselves "The National Assembly" without the agreement of the king's permission. Many agree with this movement. It is called "The Tennis court oath" because it was made in a tennis court and made a historical oath. -
"Great Fear"
This fall was a flashpoint in the French Revolution, Bastille represented power of the royal authority. The destruction of Bastille was an abuse to manrchy. It was a moment of panic for the peasents, called "Great fear". -
The end of feudalism
Feudalism was not a problem anymore, it was announced by The National Assembly. feudalism caused warfare disease and political change, feudalism came to an end with the Middle Ages. -
Women march on Versailles
Women, parsians invade the Versailles marched and enforced the royal family back. Louis XV is a prisoner in Paris, and the National Assembly make the Constitutional Rule. -
Consitution of Clergy
The Civil Consititution of Clergy passes on June 12th. This law consficates the Church land holdings and monastic vows. -
Assembly reforms France
Today, you can still see the impact the National Assembly had in France. The Assembly restored French population faith in the government. The Assembly handled things better. -
New constitution
New constitution was made after the collapse of monarchy. Legislative assembly declares war. -
Declaration of war
Monarchy wanted war because they thought the new government would be defeated by foreign powers. Revolutionaries wanted to share there power with Europe and thought it would unify the country. -
Abolished monarchy
King Louis XVI reluctantly approved a new constitution, King Louie and his queen were imprisoned in August and in September monarchy was abolished. -
"Reign of Terror"
A period of violence inflicted by the Girodins and the Jocobins that were enemies. There were thousands of people executed by guillotine.
