  • Louis XVI

    The royal family attempted to flee Paris. King Louis XVI realized that things were becoming too dangerous for them because of the Revolution. When they were caught, the trust of the revolutionary government to them faded completely and the revolutionary government became hostile towards to royal family.
  • The tennis court oath

    The Third Estate began to call themselves the National Assembly. Immediately fearing the worst and anxious that a royal attack by King Louis XVI, the deputies congregated in a nearby indoor tennis court where they took a solemn collective oath. This oath would come to have major significance in the revolution as the Third Estate would constantly continue to protest.
  • The storming of Versailles

    On July 12 1789, King Louis allowed the estates generals to meet together, but during the meeting he was moving troops to Versailles and Paris. The outbreak of violence led to a new government in paris.
  • The Legislative Assembly and war

    The constitution in 1791 was not good for the government. This constitution started war and conflicted. And this is why the constitution ended within less of a year.
  • Ropespiere

    He was against the death penalty but he played the biggest role in the execution of King Louis XVI. Robespierre was a big figure in the French Revolution. The French people didn’t like him so they wanted him to die. He was arrested like his brother. They were trialed and sent to the guillotine the very next day.
  • Region of terror

    The Reign of Terror was a period of about 6 months. The Reign of Terror was when most of the executions were done. It started after King Louis died and the first execution was Marie Antoinette. She was separated from King Louis and was just with her children.
  • Constitution of 1971

    The constitution limited the power of the king. French constitution created by the National Assembly during the French Revolution. It kept the monarchy. The constitution ended within less then a year.
  • Death of Quen

    This was the day that Marie Antoinette was executed by the guillotine. She was the first execution after the Reign of Terror started. And the people loved this.
