The Third estate
Before the Revolution, French society was divided into three estates or orders. The Third estate was by far the largest of these, containing around 27 million peole or 98 percent of the nation. The Third estate included every French citizen who did not possess a noble title and was not ordained by the church.

Storming the Bastille
Paris erupted on july 14, 1789. The paris mob was determined to arm itself due to presence of foreign troopsn the streets of Paris. They first attacked the Invalides fortress from which they obtained 30,000 muskets. They moved on to the Bastille.The mob attacked the Bastille and released the seven prisoners inside. -
Feudalism Abolished
The panic of the great fear showed the peasents anger with the old, outmoded system of feudal obligations. The National Assembly seized on the idea that the only way to stop the tide of violence in the countryside was renounce feudal privileges. When the National Assembly abolished feudalsm.

The Excution of Louis XVI
The mob forced the imprisonment of Louis and his family. After six weeks of debate in the National Convention, with the Girondins wanting clemency for the king, whereas the Jacobins wanting to execute him. On January 21, 1793, the French government sent its former king to the guillotine.

The excution of Robespierre
Maximilien Robespierre, the architect of the French Revolution's Reign of Terror, is overthrown and arrested by the National Convention. Robespierre encouraged the excution, mostly by guilotine, of more than 17,000 enemies of the Revolution. The day after his arrest, Robespierre and 21 of his followers were guillotined.
