  • Estates General

The Estates General was called to a meeting where the Third Estate refused to vote as a body of Estates rather than individually. This refusal led to the creation of the National Assembly, which led to the declaration from the National Assembly that they would not give up until they had conducted a new constitution that was put to action in France.
  • Tennis Court Oath

The Tennis Court Oath had occurred as a result of the 2 upper class Estates locking the doors to the Estates General so that the Third Estate - who wanted change wasn't able to get in and speak their mind. The Third Estate then transferred to the Tennis Court to hold their meetings for anyone who believed in their suggested change and wanted to listen. These were great stepping stones for the beginning of change towards the revolution.
  • Capturing of Bastille Prison

The goal for capturing the bastille prison was to make what they want - the revolution - clear, along with demanding weapons at the cite. The army opened fire on the protesters, defending that they had been armed even though the protesters only were demanding the weapons, not actually armed. This lead to the formation of a new government established within Paris.
  • The Civil Constitution of the Clergy

The National Assembly constructed the Civil Constitution of the Clergy in order make people re-evaluate the system and want the change that they were making - for people to have their say within who will guide them in their faith. This byproduct of the Revolution lead to an even larger conflict than there was before between the Clergy and the National Assembly since the Clergy felt that it wasn't the National Assembly's job to tell them what to do, as a result, the constitution was rejected.

Olympe de Goyes lead a group of women to create a group of reforms for women and all citizens to be equal. The Declaration of the Rights of Women and Citizeness was created to become a take on the new modified men's work guidelines, in hope to be considered just as the men's suggestions were. As a result, the proposal was declined but this event marked a very important beginning to the fight for womens' rights for years and years to come.

During the year of 1791,the New Constitution for France was completely finalized . The main idea of the creation of the New Constitution was to limit the King's power, establish a more fair governmental system. In creating this new government, 3 new governmental branches were established - legislative, judicial, and executive. This was an important start to the beginning of a new way of life and social classes - in addition to how the government viewed them.
  • Declare war on Austria

Majority ruled in Legislative Assembly meeting to then declare a war on Austria. Some people within the Legislative Assembly disagreed with the decision, although it was also majorly supported. This was a good sign to show others that France was changing - that they were not afraid to fight for what they believed in and wanted to create change (even though the war on Austria did not result the way that they wanted it to.)
