    The Estate's-General meeting was on this day. The meeting was called because of the financial problems they were having. It was called by Louis XVI in Versailles so they could make a new tax plan to fix the problem.

    The deputies of the third estate got locked out of their meeting room and had to move it to a tennis court. There, they all made an oath to not stop coming to the meetings until a constitutional regime was made and established. They were called the Third Assembly.

    The National assembly adopts the Declaration which states, "all men are born and remain free and equal in rights." The National Assembly also turned into the Legislative Assembly instead. Lastly, King Louis XVI had to swear and make an oath to never declare war on his own.

    Many people in Paris were hungry and anxious. Because of this, many women decided to invade the Palace of Versailles. They believed that the royal family ignored the citizens' health and lives, while they lived in luxury.

    On this day, the French declared war on Austria. France's army had a very small number of people because of everyone who left the country. Because of this, they also weren't very organized. There wasn't much dedication or discipline in their army. But as they got more into the war, the army got better and they ended up winning.

    King Louis XVI attempted to escape France with his family. The citizens of the country forced the family to give up power and to no longer be the royals of France. King Louis XVI ans his wife were both arrested and then decapitated.

    The constitution of 1795 made a more stable government. The new government was called The Directory. It was a held five members in the committee. They did this because of all the fighting and punishment that had happened with the king an queen before.

    The French Revolution ended when Napoleon Bonaparte became the new leader. The French had won the Revolution after winning at Valmy. When Napoleon became the head leader, the military became more put together. Then the French Revolution came to an end. It also came to an end because The Directory was made from the new government.
