The Roman Catholic Church's land is taken away from them and given to the government. The church owned around 10% of France. This shows the governments control over evey aspect of life. -
The Royal Family Flees
Due to the unrest, the royal family flees France. They are caught along the way and returned to Paris under heavy guard. -

Due to mounting pressure from foreign countries and lack of order the French constitution was ratified. Louis XVI was put in charge. He had more of a puppet rule than actual power. -

It was suspected that Louis XVI was in league with the Prussians. This, in their minds, was grounds for execution. They executed him by guillotine. -
France Wins War
Prussia (who joined the allied side later in the war) and Spain both pulled out and made treaties with France at this time. After this only Britian and Austria opposed the French Republic. -
Napoleon Stages a Coup to Gain Control
