    France went bankrupt, and they had fought and spent a lot of money fighting against Engand. their were food shortages, all food was going to the King. People became angry with this.

The king was being forced to sign law after law, whichwas draining his power. The king and his wife, left one night to flee to Austria in their royal carriage, they made it safley to the border, but were spotted and broughtback to Paris.
