The third estate gathered on a near tennis court because they were kicked out of the Versaille. They decided they were going to come back everyday to write the Declaration of the Rights of Man. They kept that promise until the day it was finished.

Attack of the Bastille

Bread March
Women and men took a 12 mile march all the way to Versaille in the rain to demand more food. When King Louis XVI knew he was defeated, he gave in, giving them more food. They also dragged him back to the Bastille and kept him and Marie has prisoners.

Royal Escape
King Louis XVI tries to escape to Austria trying to save himself and his family. They were stopped at the boarder and taken back to the Bastille in Paris. They were held prisoners under good security for quite some time.

Death of King Louis XVI
The young couple were arrested by the National Convention and imprisoned. In November, Louis XVI's evidence of counterrevolutionary intrigues with other countries was exposed and now their putting him on trial. It's now January, and hes been put to death at the guillotine.

Reign of Terror
The purpose of the reign of terror was to purge France of enemies of the revolution and protect the country from foreign envaders. From January 1793-July 1794, France was governed by the commitee of Public Safety. Danton and Robespierre were influenced people.

After landing in Fréjus, France, he helped overthrow the directory. Napoleon was named First counsul. He recieved almost unlimited power.
